SAHAR KAMFAR
Born in Tehran, Iran on March 19, 1976. Sahar Kamfar moved to the U.S. in 1985. Since childhood, she admired art and had a special interest in Surrealism. Artist such as Salvador Dali, Frida Kahlo and Georgia O’Keeffe have been just a few of Surrealist that she has admired and has been inspired by.
Sahar enrolled in Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City to follow her love of fashion and design and graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design, specializing in Intimate Wear in 1998. She had the opportunity to work in the fashion industry for several years until she made a decision to go back to school and study Art Education. Sahar attended the University of L.I., C.W.Post and graduated with her Masters degree in Art Education and became a NewYork State Certified Teacher in 2004.
She taught at Powell’s Lane School District in Westbury, NY for a few years and was also involved with the Creative Arts Program of East Meadow, teaching a “Learning to Draw” class to students ages 6 to 9. She was also fortunate to have her Paintings displayed at the Queens Museum of Arts on April 14th 2012 which was hosted by (SWAN Day) Support Women Artist Now.​
Sahar is currently working on creating more works of art that she can share with the public, doing everything from Murals, Window Paintings, and Personal requests. She looks forward in continuing to express her thoughts and feelings through her art work.​
